Plant Training

The NPORS National Plant Operators Registration Scheme is now one of the UK’s leading carding schemes working across the Construction, Industrial, Utilities, Warehousing and Distribution, Agricultural, Ports and Marine sectors.

NPORS offers flexibility that the CPCS alternative doesn’t, whilst maintaining standards both nationally and internationally by working closely with industry and Accredited Training Providers. The scheme offers accredited training much like CPCS and also offers registration and verification, much in the same way that EUSR PLUS does. The carding scheme was formed in 1992, and whilst not new is now quickly becoming one of the most recognised carding schemes in the UK.

The NPORS scheme has now become a Build UK (formally UKCG) ‘accepted record scheme’, meaning that it is recognised as being equivalent to CPCS. NPORS cards can also be CSCS embossed at request in the same way that CPCS cards are. This was done as part of a drive to bring all card schemes under a ‘one logo’ policy, making employers able to easily validate schemes and cards.

All NPORS training and assessments can be delivered at the client’s location enabling Ardent Safety to cover the full length and breadth of the UK, this of course has the additional benefit of reducing downtime on site as candidates aren’t having to be released for examination purposes as they may need to with the CPCS alternative.

Our plant training courses provide delegates with an understanding of the industry, the dangers of working in the industry and their responsibilities as a plant operator.

The health and safety surrounding plant operators is vast and having adequate training is a paramount for any individual and business.

As well as meeting health & safety requirements, the knowledge that the training provides will allow delegates to maximise their personal safety and that of their co-workers.
Each course provides the delegate with a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook for the particular machinery or equipment to be used, and to become familiar with other types of information sources and relevant legislation. A major element of the training is ensuring delegates are able to locate and identify the major components of the machinery or equipment and explain their functions, especially to perform an emergency stop in the case of an incident occurring.

Each delegate who attends and completes a plant training course with Ardent Safety will receive either an In House or an “NPORS” National Plant Operators Registration Scheme, own certification and photo ID cards.
